Install on Mac

  1. Quit your DAW. Open the downloaded .dmg, then the .pkg installer inside.
  2. Follow the installer. Keep VST3 and Audio Unit selected, or choose the format your DAW uses.
  3. Enter your Mac password if prompted. Finish the installation, then reopen your DAW.

Install on Windows

  1. Quit your DAW. Open the downloaded DrumBreaker .exe installer.
  2. Allow the installer to make changes when Windows asks, then follow the setup steps and select Install.
  3. Select Finish. Reopen your DAW and rescan your VST3 plug-ins.

You’ll need a DAW that supports VST3 or Audio Unit. Drum Breaker is an audio effect, not a standalone app. AAX is not supported.

Set up in your DAW.

  1. Add it to a track.

    Find DrumBreaker under DrumBreaker Audio in your DAW’s effects browser. Add it to a drum track or bus. In Logic Pro or GarageBand, use the Audio Unit version.

  2. Start your free trial.

    Open the plugin’s gear icon → Account. Select Free Trial, enter your email, then click Start Free Trial.

  3. Check your email.

    Enter the 6-digit code in the plugin and verify it. Your trial unlocks the full plugin for 14 days on this computer. You’ll need an internet connection to activate.

  4. Play your drums.

    Use the arrows in the top bar to try a factory preset, or click the preset name to browse. Adjust Dry/Wet to blend the effect.

The plugin isn’t showing up in my DAW.

Fully quit and reopen your DAW, then run a plug-in rescan in its settings. Look under DrumBreaker Audio in audio effects. Logic Pro and GarageBand scan Audio Units when they launch.

Check that the plugin is in the default location:

Check spam and promotions for an email from noreply@mail.thesamplelab.com. Confirm your email address in the plugin, wait a minute, then select Resend code.

The plugin is locked or won’t activate.

Open Settings → Account and finish trial or purchase activation. If you can’t reach the license server, check your internet connection. If this happens in Logic Pro or GarageBand, activate once in another compatible DAW on the same computer, then return to your session.
